How to Save X Videos to Photos with iPhone Shortcuts
Apple Shortcuts is a good fit for X video downloads because the workflow starts where the link already is: the iOS share sheet. SuperDL uses that flow to receive a public X/Twitter post URL, resolve direct media choices, and let your iPhone save the selected file.
What the Shortcut does
The SuperDL Shortcut accepts a shared URL, checks it with the SuperDL resolver, shows available media options, and downloads the selected media on your device. The service is designed for public videos you own, have permission to save, or are otherwise legally allowed to download.
Step-by-step flow
- Add SuperDL to Apple Shortcuts from the Shortcut page.
- Open a public X/Twitter post with video attached.
- Tap share and choose SuperDL from the iOS share sheet.
- Pick a quality option when the Shortcut shows available media.
- Allow Photos or Files access if iOS asks for permission.
Why Photos permission appears
iOS asks for permission before a Shortcut can save media. This permission is local to your device. SuperDL does not receive access to your Photos library; the Shortcut only needs local permission so your iPhone can place the downloaded file where you choose.
When to use Files instead
Saving to Photos is convenient when you want the video in your camera roll. Saving to Files can be better when you are archiving your own posts, collecting project assets, or keeping downloads separate from personal photos.
What makes SuperDL different
SuperDL resolves direct media URLs and keeps the transfer on your device. The Worker does not store videos, run a video proxy, merge streams, or transcode files. That makes the Shortcut simpler and keeps the server-side role narrow.
If the Shortcut does not appear
Open Apple Shortcuts and confirm SuperDL is installed. Then try copying the post URL and running the Shortcut manually. If the link still fails, open the web downloader to check whether the resolver can read the same public post.
Keep it authorized
Only save videos when you have the right to do so. SuperDL is not intended for private posts, login-only media, or unauthorized redistribution. Review the Copyright page if you need the policy details.
