Test a video link to check whether the same post works in your browser.

Most failures come from unsupported links, private media, or short-lived download URLs.

Unsupported platform

Use an individual public X/Twitter or Bluesky post, or a post from mastodon.social, fosstodon.org, or mstdn.social. The dedicated X web downloader accepts X/Twitter only; use the homepage tester for Bluesky and Mastodon.

No media found

The post may not contain downloadable video media, or it may be private, deleted, or restricted.

Links expired

Resolve the post again to fetch fresh direct media links.

Shortcut permission prompt

Allow network and Photos permissions so the Shortcut can call the resolver and save the file.
